Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the OrthoGuide website and its learning modules and handbooks (“OrthoGuide”, “the Service”). By accessing or using OrthoGuide, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About OrthoGuide

OrthoGuide is an educational resource providing orthopaedic emergency learning modules and departmental handbooks, produced for healthcare professionals and trainees, with content relevant to practice at West Suffolk Hospital. It is intended to support learning and induction — not to direct the care of any individual patient.

2. Medical disclaimer — important

OrthoGuide is provided for general education only and does not constitute medical advice or a substitute for professional clinical judgement, supervision, or formal training.

3. Intended users

OrthoGuide is intended for qualified healthcare professionals and healthcare students or trainees. It is not intended for members of the public seeking medical advice. If you are a patient, please contact a healthcare professional.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use OrthoGuide lawfully, and not to: misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service; reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit the content without permission; or rely on it as a sole source for clinical decision-making.

5. Certificates of completion

Certificates generated on completing a module are intended as a personal record for reflective practice, continuing professional development (CPD), or portfolio purposes. They are self-certified, generated on your own device using the name you enter, and do not constitute a formal qualification or accreditation unless expressly stated.

6. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise indicated, the content, design, and branding of OrthoGuide are owned by OrthoGuide and its authors. Third-party images, videos, and materials remain the property of their respective owners and are used for educational purposes with attribution where applicable. You may not reproduce or republish content without permission.

7. Third-party content and links

OrthoGuide embeds and links to third-party content and services (for example, YouTube videos, external clinical pathways, and feedback forms). We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party sites or services.

8. Availability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously available, and we may modify or withdraw content at any time.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OrthoGuide, West Suffolk Hospital, and the authors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
